We had the breakfast buffet after a night out in Pier Park. The selection for the breakfast were plentiful (Bacon, Sausage links, scrambled eggs, French toast sticks, French toast, biscuits, assortment of fruit and many other nice touches) and there are different varieties of pancakes that can be ordered that are included in the price for the buffet. If you prefer toast rather than the biscuits on the buffet, this is also included, we just asked our server and he had them out to us in minimal time. Basically something for everyone and at a very reasonable price! Our coffee/drinks were refilled without having to ask the waiter and we never felt like the service was inattentive. The manager came by our table several times to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. The restaurant is new and well kept. I'm impressed with the quality of the food and service, we definitely will return here again if we're spending the night in Panama City. In my opinion, the little extra money is well worth it instead of going to a fast food restaurant like BK, McDs etc.

Twice I tried to get seated and left as they have no hostess. I should have left it at that, but no, I just had to try it. Big mistake! The buffet food was terrible , Worst restaurant on the beach. I guess Pier Park was desperate to fill the space.

This may be long, but I have to spread the gospel. My dear friends, take heed! A few of us decided to go and try out Shoney's in Pier Park to see how "Their Largest Location in America" was. They told us the price for their buffet was $6.99 which is ok, then an additional $5.99 for Unlimited Crab Legs. When it was time to pay they said they made a mistake and the price is really $14.99 for their buffet plus the $5.99 for the legs of crab. Hummuna Hummuna What What What?! And they were serious with those prices. I know I'm gonna sound like a fatty but oh well... There was only 1 Table, half of which was the salad bar. The rest of it had basically nothing to choose from, and then their selection offered odd combinations of food that didn't go together. I seriously mostly only ate mashed potatoes, for $14.99, and I'm a grown man. Then there's the crab legs. They bring them out to you, which means they bring 4 legs out every 15 mins. That's a dollar a leg. And it's not because they were busy, it was fairly slow. Plus only 2 of us ordered them, so its not like they were supplying a large group. Look at this picture. They shoulda threw that in the gabbage! We didn't pay the $80+ dollars they requested from the 4 of us, but they actually expected us to. I'll wrap this up, but I'm just warning y'all. Don't go to Shoneys unless you want to pay $30 for a mashed potato feast. Then they asked if we wanted to buy dessert...

Excellent food and great service. We arrived at 2PM and were greeted by Jeffrey C. who was an excellent waiter. He took pride in his work and explained everything well. Great service and personality. The tea is the best we've had in a long time. The food was a breakfast and lunch combo and tasted fresh. The salad bar was good. The bacon was an applewood taste. The fried chicken was tasty. The price was $10.95 and we ate plenty. Parking was very easy. Not very busy at this time of the day on a Saturday. Nice, modem, and very clean. We all 3 agreed that we would return when in town. Great job Jeffrey!!

Waste of time for breakfast. Got lured into going with others and knew it was a bust but thought oh well, I'll make the best of it. Breakfast is overpriced, menu is small with hardly any choices. No toast, only a biscuit with all breakfasts. Bacon was thin. Pancakes thick and tasteless. Butter substitutes. Service was slow and everyone working there looks miserable and confused. Beg for coffee refills. Getting check to get the heck out of there is like getting a tooth pulled. Slow and painful. What more can I say except, don't waste your time.

Went for the breakfast buffet and was disappointed on this trip. The lines were long and slow as they had everyone making a loop around the bar. We have little kids so by the time the second group went through the first group was done with their plates. We had 3 different waitress ask the age of the kids and take our drink orders. The wait staff was very nice but with all the help we still had to steal silverware from an empty table. The chocolate milk was awful, tasted like dirt. Overall the food was like any other Shoney's buffet. Not bad but not great.

This isn't your grandpa's Shoney's. This place is huge with 20 something TV's, buffet and menu, outdoor patio, and ready for this...a full bar! Yes, alcohol bar, not just food! Great spot for dinner before hitting the clubs or to nurse the hang over (Breakfast Buffet).

We had a great experience here. We came in last night (sept 4th) and there weren't too many people here so our service was super quick. We sat outside and were served by a bartender/manager named Josh and he was super helpful and friendly. We were super shocked at how big the kids meals are. Our girls ordered the pancakes and they are huge and came with way more then one piece of bacon and also came with a huge bowl of home fries. Massive meals and on the cheap! We truly had a great meal for five for $35 with great service. Can't ask for much more!

Place was great! Nice location, right at the end of the mall behind pier park across from red robin, I had the BBQ Bacon Burger, it was good, needed a side of more bbq though, the fries were amazing! Went at noon time and it wasn't busy at all, buffet was open but didn't look like to much, we also got a chocolate chip cookie skillet with ice cream that was awesome also!

This is a brand new adult Shoneys with a full bar you can sit, drink, and eat. So slow and quiet right now without the vacationers, you can sit quickly and get your food no issues. Regular menu after breakfast and all you can eat bar starting at 5pm..love it

Mostly southern themed buffet with green beans, okra, mashed potatoes and hearty beef gravy and deep fried chicken...yummy!! ;excellent food and superior customer service. affordable eating. Family friendly. The gingerbread pancakes and breaded pork chops were my favorite. Also we had no wait for mid week lunch.

This place was horrible. Ordered a SALAD and it took over 50 minutes to come out and there was nobody in there. Now I know why.

Thought this place was going to be like Denny's or ihop, went here for breakfast the prices are good but the selection wasn't good and the food was mediocre at best. I should have looked on here first. Good for the spring breakers I guess. Lunch and dinner might be better though.

I wish there was a way to write a review & not give the business a star. I took the family here for breakfast. We were seated & told that our server would be right out. We waited a few minutes then got up & fixed our plates. A waitress came to the table to the left of us an waited on them. She engaged in a long conversation with the costumers so I figured she would great us next but nope. A waitress came to the table to the right of us so I figured we would be next but nope. This is very embarrassing. Our children asked if the people are ignoring us & wanted to know why haven't got any drinks. I walked back to the hostess & informed her that we have yet to be waited on. A few minutes later a waitress came to our table & apologized & said the waitress that had our table wasn't at work yet. I don't like bad service but no service is inexcusable.

This was a very disappointing experience. The lines for the breakfast buffet were extremely long and also unorganized. People were coming in from all sides because of the food layout and it was mass confusion. On top of that I had to dig through about 10 plates before I found a clean one. Also there was several items that did not get refilled the entire time. We did have good service and we went seated on a Saturday morning without any wait.

Should have checked Yelp first... Service was slow for a breakfast buffet... Lots of raw biscuits, bacon was bad, food was slow to come out on the buffet, water in the bathroom is WAY TOO HOT! It looks nice, but they have a lot of work to do... Talked to others in the parking lot, they had the same experience..

I've been here a total of three times and the first two were fine. That's why I can't give it only 1 star. So it's Sunday late morning and it's busier than usual because of bike week. We were told 15-25 minute wait, which was reasonable. We had 2 hours before we had to work. We eat fast, especially if it's a buffet cuz food is ready. So even if it took 30 minutes to get seated, we would have been fine. I was right next to the door outside so there's no way we didn't hear our name being called. We started seeing parties with the same amount of people we had, go in before us, even though they put there name after us. So 40 minutes later, I went to the host and asked him what the delay was. He apologized and was honest and said my name was accidentally crossed out and was their mistake. It happens I guess. He then starts telling the servers to make sure they call me next because we've been waiting the longest. Yet, another 5 parties went before us. They made eye contact with us, but yet completely neglected to seat us. The host went somewhere in the back and now what seems like a manager is hosting. I asked him what the deal was, and he told me, " I think we called you." After the host admitting their mistake, i knew he was trying to cover it up. Nice try. Finally 15 minutes after, we get seated. After all that wait, the buffet only had eggs, biscuits ,gravy and very little ham. No sausage, no bacon. We waited 5 minutes to see if anything came out. Nothing. I've never walked out of a restaurant before, but this experience made me. This party of 5 went somewhere else. We had to get to work on time. What sucks is, I bragged about this place to my friends and they were excited to try the breakfast buffet. Sadly, they didn't get to try it. If I decide to come back, I hope things are different. Everyone deserves a second chance at one point.

Haven't been to shoneys for a long time. I wanted a big boy sandwich and salad bar. When we walked into the building a male server who was clear in the back yelled out, Welcome to Shoneys. Ok owners and mangers let me give you some advice. Stop! A greeting at the hostess stand is enough, this is not cheers, you do not know my name and do not need to yell. Then they seat us in the middle of the place with window seats open all around us. As I mentioned it had been a while, they no longer have the Big Boy but our waitress suggested the all american burger, double decker. Bad idea. This sandwich was about 7 inches high and had anything you could think on the bun. Bacon, tomato, onions lettuce, pickles, sauce. Not good and way too much food. Fries we ok. Drinks at 2.09 and no refills offered. It's been a long time, I can say it will be a long time before my return.

Well, we weren't there at breakfast time but our dinner was right on. Parents and kids food was great. Our two boys are super picky food snobs and they actually loved it. Salad buffet was awesome, place was clean and not busy. Hey, it's Shoney's. That being said, they get my 4 stars.

Here are the reasons we deducted points: The restaurant was cold, so when they asked if we'd like to sit outside, I jumped at the chance. They took forever to take our drink orders. As my husband predicted, they forgot about us out there. One of the two guys present at the host stand when we came in apologized for not knowing we were there. Brought my daughter her water not in a kid's cup. They corrected this, but didn't bring her a straw. There was no mention of the salad bar/all-you-can-eat buffet. It was $10.99 and looked ok, but we didn't feel like running the gauntlet through the crowded restaurant back to our table, so we decided to order off the menu. There were no kid's menus. The server fumbled around and told us what the options were, including a buffet for free? If the kids were under 4. Ours is 5 and looks much older. I couldn't believe the host had offered her a high chair - she's nearly four feet tall! We ordered her a kid's pancake breakfast (breakfast is served all day, but the menu doesn't say that). The waiter had to come back and ask what sides she wanted with her pancake - again with the no kid menus. I ordered the turkey club. When the meal finally arrived, there was no bacon on the club sandwich. Honestly, I wasn't in the mood for bacon and I tasted it off my husband's ultimate grilled cheese sandwich and it wasn't that great. So even though they offered to fix some bacon for me separately, I declined and accepted their offer of a discount (10%, evidently what mall employees get). When the food came out, we had to ask for our silverware. The waitress bringing our food offered us refills. After having been neglected so long, she guessed my husband's Mr. Pibb was iced tea - nope...the ice just melted in the soda! Overall, they still get a couple of stars because the staff was actually friendly and worked to fix our problems. The food was average, and we were hungry. It's the nicest looking Shoney's I've ever seen - it even has a full bar! The restrooms were clean and there was plenty of parking. We are not likely to go back.

I had never been to a Shoney's, but my wife had and was raving about their buffet. We arrived about 4pm to eat as much as we could only to be told by the hostess that they no longer serve the buffet because it was the beaches off season. I was dumbfounded. I know this is an area that feeds off of tourism, but this was 2 days after labor day, there's still plenty of people who want to eat. They get 2 stars for cleanliness, waiter, didn't have to ask for refills, and the Shoney's double cheeseburger was good. But I didn't come here for a cheeseburger, I came for a buffet.

Went here for breakfast as we were leaving vacation, food was mediocre, buffet ran out of eggs, coffee was horrid and service was slow (though polite). The best thing would have been the restroom, but then there wasn't any soap. Too bad my mom doesn't know how to use technology to find a great place for our last meal. Nonetheless I ate my $10.00 worth of buffet.

We risked it despite the reviews, it was late and we wanted breakfast, they server it all day, next to panera which had everything in sight but wouldn't serve us the items because it was slightly after the breakfast time, Buffett was available but opted for ordering off the menu, it was busy so food took about 20 to 25 minutes to arrive for the 4 of us, everyone was satisfied and ate as much as they could, well served portions, nothing to rave about, but good food, biscuits not spectacular, the bill took a long time , specially when you are done eating and want to go on with your day.....

Food was mediocre. Service was horrible. We practically had to beg them to refill our drinks. My fries were overcooked. Our appetizer came out after our main meal was at table. We also had to wait longer for my son's pizza after we already had meal. Try to explain that to a child. I gave a two because the burger was okay.

My favorite thing about Shoney's is that you are given a soup and salad buffet aside from your order. Not sure what the soup was when I was there but it was awesome. I could have actually been satisfied with just having the soup. I had the Italian Feast - pasta topped with breaded chicken strips in a meat sauce, sprinkled with mozzarella and 2 pieces of garlic bread. You are given the grilled or fried option - of course, I went with fried. Although it was pretty dead when we got there, the service was great. We had a very funny, attentive waiter. Given a generous and well-proportioned amount of pasta, sauce, chicken, and cheese, my Italian Feast was good, but it wasn't special. We could probably all make the same thing at home, but for $9.99 and a complementary buffet, I would say it was worth it.

The worst breakfast I've had in a long time. Service was okay but she didn't ask if we liked the food. I'm used to servers asking how every is. Not here. Slim Jim omelet was made with deli ham (salty), a tablespoon of swiss cheese & grape tomatoes with tough skin. Biscuit was doughy. Grits were watery & tasteless. Won't be back.

We were a little hesitant to come here because of the reviews, but we had a great waitress. The breakfast buffet was still out and being refreshed, was good, filling food. The hostess could have smiled, but was a good meal and experience. We will probably eat breakfast here again this week.

Tried dining here the other night. Walked in, two couples were waiting ahead of us. No hostess to be seen or found. We waited, waited a bit more, looked around, nobody there to greet or seat you. We left. When we walked back the other way to our car to go elsewhere, we still saw the two couples standing there waiting. Unreal. They had their chance and lost big time.

I don't normally review chain restaurants, but after my experience yesterday, just had to do it. The restaurant opened at 6 and I arrived shortly after that. No one at the front to greet, but plenty of staff wandering around. There was one family already seated. I ordered the breakfast bar and a coffee. Not too complicated, or so I thought. There was virtually no hot breakfast food on the bar. I wanted eggs. That's it. I watched through the window to the kitchen as the cook's took their time getting food out. They'd put a pan in the window and let it sit. A couple minutes later, they'd walk around and put it on the bar. At one point, the server asked if I wanted eggs to order. Sure, I'll have an omelet. Sorry sir, that's an extra charge. Not thanks, I'll wait. Eggs were the last thing out -- at 6:20. The entire time I sat there, the staff pretty much kept to themselves chatting away. I watched a guy that looked like the manager walk back and forth a couple of times with servers walking behind him. It felt like the cook's and manager had gotten in late from a night of drinking. The cook's prepared the food wearing a simple white t-shirt. It wasn't until after the eggs were put on the bar that they came out donning their cook coats. The manager was wearing a white oxford shirt -- untucked. He never popped by the two tables to see how we were doing or apologize for the delay. I'm quite sure that this isn't protocol. They've been open just a month, but that's more than enough time to get the "Signature" breakfast bar down cold. The food was decent, but as for the unprofessional staff and management, not so much.

  • Allie M.

The food and prices were average. I got the turkey burger which came with "avocado" which actually turned out to be some sort of packaged guacamole. Once I scraped that off it wasn't bad. The downside was that the service was extremely slow despite the fact that the restaurant was practically empty. All entrees come with a salad bar which was your typical iceberg lettuce and a few toppings and dressings.

Ate at Stoney's pcb and was the worst service we have ever had . Food was good but didn't get food for hr then when we ask for something we were ready to leave before they brought it or never brought it at all. We were there 2 1/2 hrs and it wasn't crowded. Never eat there.again

If I could leave no stars I would. We are locals and been in restaurant business 23 yrs myself as owner/manager and every return leaves a bad taste in my mouth that gets worse each visit. Food is so lack luster, buffet is usually dried out or soggy (fried meats). Last two times I have been seriously sick to my stomach before I can get out of the building. When it opened it wasn't the greatest and it has only went down hill. It is usually quiet empty every time we go, granted we avoid it on weekends period. $35 for buffet and lemonades that I literally didn't make it out of the store with!!! Staff is always miserable acting, if not right out short when speaking to you. Our last waitress was nice but waited forever for her and it wasn't busy, for refills and she and the hostess stood by our table discussing how it was time for the server to get off but she guessed she would take care of us. I predict that this will be one of those failed restaurants that close in the near future. I always believe in giving a place more than one chance....so fifth time is the charm for me. I am done!

Best breakfast in PCB! We live here and we've tried different places. We took family to eat breakfast here and everyone found something they wanted on the buffet. The other yelp reviews were pretty bad about the service but we didn't have any issues. If you go on the weekend, make sure you go early. We got there around 9am and didn't wait but at 10am people were lining up outside the door. You can definitely get your money's worth of food an enjoy a few mimosas if you want to start the day off drinking.

A shoneys with a full bar? What gives? This is the nicest and newest Shoneys I've ever seen. Located in the new Pier Park section of PCB. Food was good, but service was very spotty, due primarily to issues in the kitchen according to our server. I'd go again just for the perfect hot fudge cake.

We hadnt been to Shoney's in years and were so excited to see one. So dissapointed in the breakfast bar.... Not fresh and nasty. Service was worse. The floors and bathroom were filthy. We learned the hard way to stay away from any food at Pier Park!!

Growing up in the area, I was very excited when I found out Shoney's was back in the area and it did not disappoint. I have been here a couple of times since it opened for both their famous breakfast Buffet and Dinner. Both times the food was left me more than satisfied, everyone at the table was happy and well fed. Employees were extremely friendly and management was very attentive. I was also very impressed with the bar.
